We want to share resources and collaborate with individuals, societies and institutions. If you have information which adds to the stories, please get in touch. We are actively working on tools to help in information sharing. The first example of this is an XML-based standard for passenger information, allowing the interchange of this data between different databases.

Accessing XML Voyage Information

If you wish to access the data for an of the voyage information in our database, use the following instructions:

Find the voyage information you are interested in by searching through the database. Make a note of the voyage ID number.
Put the address http://www.theclearances.org/xml/voyage/ into your web browser and add the voyage ID number onto the end of it, e.g. for voyage 12 use the web address http://www.theclearances.org/xml/voyage/12.
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 or greater and want to view the voyage information using the Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild (ISTG) page layout, add /istg onto the end of the web address, e.g. http://www.theclearances.org/xml/voyage/12/istg.
